Tribal art and eco warriors

At: KK Academy, Lucknow, On: February 1, 2018

Two workshops were held for the 2nd grade and 7th grade students at KK Academy, a school that makes quality education accessible to children of low-income households in Lucknow. Sarmaya’s Experience and Outreach Associate Mitisha Mehta, supported by Malavika Jadeja of Pavitra Rajaram Design, gave the kids grounding in the history and larger themes of Gond art and then helped them create works on their favourite subjects. While the younger lot drew all manner of fantastical animals, the older class created art that carried a social message about eco-conservation.
