While living in Delhi, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Ira developed an interest in the evolution of mythology and its relevance to the status of women in India. She is particularly interested in the way history is manipulated to suit changing narratives and the need to present historical non-fiction in an accessible way. Ira has two degrees in Natural Sciences and has studied in Delhi and Cambridge. She is currently working on her third project, a biography of Emperor Akbar.
